Restore corrupted mdf file ?

hello, I am using SQL Server 2000. 2 days before, I encountered with one problem with my Server. It shows blue screen. So I restart it then it was showing message like system file or registry corrupted……..
Then I removed HDD from server and to copy database files i.e .mdf and .ldf, I put it on another machine. But I found that size of mdf file get changed from 1.6 GB to 2048 KB. It means mdf file get corrupted. I want my old database back. How to restore corrupted database i.e mdf file? I really need to recover SQL data.
